Seth Cohen is a facilitator, mediator, and trainer with USACE’s Collaboration & Public Participation Center of Expertise (CPCX) and The Institute for Water Resources, where he has worked since 2010. He has over 15 years experience teaching, training, and facilitating diverse groups in Latin America, Africa, South Asia, and in the United States, working on water resource challenges, land-use development, and other multi-party issues. At USACE, Seth facilitates meetings on a variety of natural resource challenges, including flood risk management, watershed planning, dam and levee safety issues, and Native American Tribal consultation meetings with Federal agencies. As a trainer, Seth teaches courses on Facilitation, Collaboration and Conflict Transformation, Tribal Consultation, and Cross-Cultural Competency to Corps and other Federal employees. Most recently, Seth has been leading workshops on Shared Vision Planning, Public Participation and Conflict Transformation skills for the Mekong River Commission and for government officials in Lao PDR, SE Asia. Seth received his PhD in Conflict Analysis & Resolution from George Mason University in 2013 and his M.A. in Intercultural Communication from the University of New Mexico in 2002.
