Peace and Conflict Studies

Dr. Amanda Guidero has a PhD in International Conflict Management from Kennesaw State University, an MS in Conflict Resolution from Portland State University and a BA in International Studies from Southern Oregon University. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at Creighton University and primarily teaches in the Negotiation and Conflict Resolution program. Prior to joining Creighton, she was a part-time instructor for the Political Science and International Affairs Department at Kennesaw State and a research assistant on a variety of research projects on disaster response and countering violent extremism. She also conducted peace research in Cyprus in 2008. 

Dr. Guidero provides professional workshops in the Omaha area on negotiation, difficult conversations and organizational conflict. Her research includes nongovernmental organizations, humanitarian norms, and organizational leadership and decision making in high risk environments. She has published in a variety of academic journals including International Studies Review and International Negotiation. Her co-authored book entitled Global Responses to Conflict and Crisis in Syria and Yemen is a part of Palgrave’s Pivot series. Dr. Guidero is a member of the Peace Section in the International Studies Association, the Peace and Justice Studies Association, and the Association for Conflict Resolution.
