Job Description:

The Peace, Conflict, and Security Program (PACS) is looking to fill an undergraduate student assistant position for Spring 2024. Students across all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply. Applications are reviewed as they are received, and interviews will be scheduled as soon as possible for immediate start date. The starting hourly rate for the position is $20-25 an hour depending on experience and includes paid sick leave. This position is primarily support for research and scholarly activities, along with some program-related tasks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting background research on peace-related topics, specifically citizen diplomacy and other grassroots peacebuilding efforts
  • Writing literature reviews and summaries
  • Assisting in the planning of programming for events.
  • Helping to develop other program-related opportunities and assist Dr. English with course-related research and preparation.

What we are Looking For:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with using library databases and search tools to locate relevant material.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Canvas and similar basic digital education tools.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently and take initiative.
  • 5 hours per week with the ability to work remotely for some of this time.
  • Job is currently slated to run from late January to May 11 with possibility of renewal for Summer and Fall.
